First Time Blog

Well, I can't take you all the way back to the beginning - it would take way too long, and I only have a few minutes left in Gabriel's naptime. He'll be two in a few days, I can't believe it. He is so amazing, his vocabulary and his comprehension - incredible. I know some adults who aren't as together as my toddler! And he loves his brother, who just turned 4 months old. That blows my mind, too. Not just that he is already 4 months old, but that I have 2 kids to begin with! 5 years ago, if someone had told me that I would be a stay-at-home mom, with a minivan and 2 kids under 2 (for the next couple of days, anyway) I would have laughed. "Not me!" But, I guess God has a sense of humor, I'm just waiting for the punch line!

Playgroup

Wow, if you want an exercise in patience, get 5 adults in charge of 10 kids under the age of 4 and turn them loose in the church nursery for 2 hours. No, I'm not talking about Sunday morning, I'm talking about something much more chaotic - PLAYGROUP! I'm kidding though, it was great. Gabriel had a great time, and is really learning how to share his toys and play nicely (even though he did knock his cousin over... come to think of it, he doesn't share well with Clara, must be some kind of interesting little relational thing with the two of them), and then he comes home exhausted and sleeps for... well, we're going on 2 hours now.
